There were plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans who expected an unhealthy dose of Deja Vu on Tuesday evening as our Under 21 development squad made the trip to the Colchester Community Stadium to take on a side that had already beaten our first team this year.
With disappointment coming in the EFL Cup, there was some reason for cheer in our EFL Trophy tie yesterday evening as the side battled to a 1-1 draw at the full time whistle, and then took a 6-5 penalty shootout victory.
Our Development Squad have won 6-5 on penalties here at @ColU_Official to earn an additional point after the initial 1-1 draw in our @LeasingcomTrphy tie!
Well done, lads! #COYS

Given the current mood at White Hart Lane, fans reacting to the win on social media were always going to reference the previous defeat and for those looking for a bit of dark humour to cheer them up after recent results, well, for those that like that kind of thing it certainly raised a smile.

I guess you take the humour where you can find it at the minute, as I’m still unsure if the October international break is great or awful timing for us?
